How I Manage Social Media for Brands in 2026
My weekly operating system for running brand accounts: content pillars, batching, and the metrics that actually matter.

Managing a brand's social media is 20% designing and 80% operating. After running accounts for local brands, I settled on a weekly system that keeps content consistent without burning out. Here's the whole thing.
Start with pillars, not posts
Every brand I manage gets three to four content pillars — for example: product, behind-the-scenes, education, and community. Every post must belong to a pillar. If an idea doesn't fit, it doesn't ship. This single rule kills the 'what do we post today?' panic.
Batch everything
- Monday: plan the week — one row per day, pillar + format + hook.
- Tuesday–Wednesday: design in batches using modular templates, not from scratch.
- Thursday: write all captions and schedule.
- Friday: engage — reply, comment, and note what worked for next week's plan.
The only metrics I report
Followers are a vanity number. I report saves, shares, profile visits from non-followers, and DMs started. Those four tell you whether content is reaching new people and whether it's good enough to act on. Everything else is decoration.
Consistency beats virality. One account posting well twice a week will outgrow one chasing trends daily.
